AIM: How to install an electrical device in an existing construction?

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES: S.W.B.A.T.

  1. Define a device Box.
  2. Know where is installed.
  3. Know the necessary steps to install it.
DEFINITION:
Device box gang box that is used for the installation of switches, lamps, single and duplex receptacle. It is used in finished construction, where all walls, floors and ceilings are closed in.

STEPS:
  1. Measure the distance at the desired location.
  2. Make out the box on the wall or ceiling using a pencil.
  3. Use a key-hole saw to cut out the wall.
  4. Insert the cable into the box K.O. clip.
  5. Insert the box into the hole.
  6. Fasten the box using Erickson or Madison clips on each side.
