HOW IS WATTS' LAW APPLIED TO AN ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT?

LESSON NO. 9

UNIT:-  Watts' Law

AIM:-      How is watts' law applied to an electrical circuit?

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:-   S.W.B.A.T  (Student will be able to)
  1. Define watts' law.
  2. Know the formula used for watts' law.
  3. Apply the watts' formula to an electrical circuit.
SAFETY :-   Finding the total wattage consumption in an electrical circuit can assist us in determining the proper wire size and avoiding the overheating of the conductor, which could possibly lead to an electrical fire.

DEFINITIONS:-  Watts' Law :-  A formula used by electricians to dind the missing values for power, voltage and amperes in a particular circuit.

W= E x I           E= W / I           I= W / E
